With a population of around 422, Alberton is conveniently located off I-90 just 30 miles west of Missoula; Alberton is a small scenic town with tons of wildlife, and friendly people!

This quaint little town in Mineral County was founded by the Albert family when the only roads here were Indian trails.

Recently the Milwaukee depot has been restored and is visible from I-90. Alberton is the gateway to the Alberton Gorge, favored by whitewater rafters, avid anglers and hunting enthusiasts. Popular attractions in Alberton include the Alberton Railroad Museum and the Little Joe Slide, and the beautiful Stark Mountain Vista.

Alberton is located in Mineral County, Montana. Mineral County is alive with opportunity. The people are hospitable and the weather is appealing. The bulk of the land surface in the county is situated in a narrow valley separated by the St. Regis Rivers & Clark Fork Rivers, in the Lolo National Forest. The Clark Fork River carries more water than any other river in Montana. The county is heavily forested with many varieties of cedars and pine trees.
